Your platform knows when one of your employees is about to go into overtime. There are different factors that play into this. The below paragraphs break down the factors the platform takes into consideration.
Payroll
Once your platform has been set up for your locations of business, it will know what the minimum and maximum hours for working regulations are in regards to paying overtime.
Matching Candidates
When an order is placed, the platform tags the appropriate candidates. If the order is for an independent contractor or employee, the platform will take this into consideration. If the order is for an employee, the algorithm that identifies potential matching candidates only selects candidates that are employees or have been offered employment. The algorithm will match candidates to shifts based on many factors, including location, past attendance, and client star ratings. Candidates can also be automatically assigned to shifts if enabled on the platform.
Auto Hire and Overtime
The Auto Hire algorithm only hires employees and not independent contractors, if W2 payroll has been configured on the platform. If auto hire is enabled, then that ease of hire will take place. This feature also factors in overtime laws and tries to avoid hiring candidates that might go into overtime, unless no other candidate is available. In that case, the platform would hire a candidate who would go into overtime if they worked that shift.
If no explicit instructions are given, candidates that are likely to go into overtime will only be hired within 48 hours of the order starting.
Your platform will do all the overtime calculations according to the regulations of the state in which the employee is working.
