In many industries, especially where longer shifts are common, candidates must be able to take breaks, and have these breaks be appropriately registered on the platform.
However, just because you wish to allow breaks to be taken by candidates on your platform does not necessarily mean you would wish to allow it for every order.
We will take a look at just how you can configure allowing candidates to take breaks
Let’s first look at how you can configure this on your platform, if you so wish.
Navigate to Configuration ->Order Form ->Schedule.
Here you will see 3 options:
Candidates can always log breaks--This will allow breaks to be logged by default.
Breaks are not permitted to be logged--This will not allow breaks to be logged (this is how you are used to the platform operating)
Decide when placing an order--This will allow breaks to be logged, if it is selected when an order is placed.
The second matter of business is to decide if these breaks will be paid or not. Again, you have 3 options.
Break time is deducted from total hours worked--By default, any break time registered in the platform would be deducted from the total hours worked.
Break time is paid--When this is selected, candidates will still be allowed to log their breaks, however it will not be deducted from their pay.
Decide when placing an order--Again, this allows the decision about whether breaks should be deducted to be made on a per-order basis.
Note: Wolf strongly recommends that if you will be allowing candidates to log breaks on the platform, that you have your platform configured with “Candidates can always log breaks” and “Break time is deducted from total hours worked.”
Once you’ve decided whether or not candidates can log breaks and if so, whether or not these breaks will be paid (or, if these will be decided on a per order basis), you are good to go!
Please let Wolf know if you have any questions regarding configuring your break policy on the platform.
