Why aren't candidates being notified about job opportunities?

There are two overarching reasons why candidates on your platform may not be receiving notifications about job opportunities--the first is that they are not in the outreach tab/in a later “batch”. The second reason is that they are not subscribed to notifications. Let’s break these two reasons down further and see what you can do to help ensure your candidates are viewing all the opportunities that they should.

Candidates not in outreach tab or in a later batch:

There are a number of reasons why candidates may not be in the outreach tab or placed in a later batch. Here are some questions to ask that can help you troubleshoot.

  1. Is the candidate authorized and interested in the job type?

  2. Is the candidate’s address mapped correctly and are they within the platform’s default radius?

  3. Was the job order created for only preferred candidates to be notified or with a large number of preferred candidates (even if other candidates could be hired)?

  4. Is the candidate busy for all or part of the order?

  5. Has the candidate previously worked for this client and received a poor rating?

Remember that with throttle notifications, a candidate will not be able to see the order until they have been notified. If the order receives all the applications needed or someone is assigned from earlier batches, then outreach will pause before those notifications go out.

That said, the algorithm used to determine the size and number of batches can be modified, so if you feel as though good candidates are being left out of the outreach tab, Wolf can work with you to slowly update this.

Candidates are not subscribed to a notification channel:

Now, let’s say that your candidates are in the outreach tab--but still they are telling you that they just aren’t getting notifications.

The first thing you’ll want to do is check to see if they are subscribed to any notification channels.

If they aren’t, you are able to subscribe them to whichever channels your platform makes use of on their behalf.
