How to authorize candidates

Authorizing manually or using the platform algorithm

Candidates need to be authorized for a job, in addition to being interested in the job, in order to be considered. There are two main ways you can authorize a candidate:

  1. Authorizing with ratings criteria

  • From your dashboard, go to the Configuration menu and click on Services and Job types.

  • Click on the Update button of the job type that you want to authorize candidates for by using the ratings criteria.

  • Click on the Skills & Intel tab.

  • In the Auto Authorization Status, make sure that Algorithmic is selected

  • In the Auto Authorization Criteria, select a rating that would be considered the minimum requirement for a candidate. For example if you select a rating of 7, then only candidates who have a rating of 7 and above will be authorized for this job type.

  • Click on the Submit button to save the settings

The auto authorization evaluation will be triggered when you change a rating for a candidate and this rating matches the criteria you have set. This will also only apply for future candidates, however if you want to change the rating criteria for a job type and you want your current workforce to be authorized based on this rating criteria, please reach out to us for assistance.

2. Authorizing manually

  • From your dashboard, go to the Workforce menu and search for a candidate in the search box or select the candidate from the list below this box.

  • Click on View Profile to go to the candidate’s profile.

  • Click on the Interview Tab at the top of the screen.

  • In the list of job types in the candidate’s profile, you select the Authorized option. For example, the candidate might have General Electrician as a job type that they are interested in, and you can now manually authorize them here.

The candidate will automatically be authorized for that job type, and you can test this by refreshing the page and clicking on the Interview button again and you will see that your selection has been saved.

Remember that a candidate can only work in a job type if they are both interested in and authorized for the job type.
