Everyone has their own style of how they like to assign shifts. We here at Wolf are always trying to give you new tools so that your platform can really suit your style of staffing. We have three pages to assign staff through, the Campaigns view or the Missions view, and also the Assign view.

This view can be found right from your dashboard under the Assign tab.

Assigning Shifts
From this page, you'll notice that all the dates of your upcoming shifts are listed on the top and the workers that have applied for them are listed on the side. Any already filled shifts will appear under the corresponding shift and in the same line as the worker assigned with a blue check and the shift details. These shifts are already good to go, so it's the green pluses that interest us. These mean that the worker has applied for a shift at this time and that the shift needs filling. All you need to do is click on the green plus and you'll be able to see which shifts the worker applied for and can assign them right there. You'll need to refresh the page before the blue checks will appear!

Filtering Shifts:

Now let's say you want to view candidates that applied for specific shifts first. If that's the case you have two options. If you have hundreds of shifts that you need to filter through, you can use the filter button on the top to find the specific shift you are looking for. You can filter based on date, role, location, client, there are countless options!

If you already have a narrowed down amount of shifts, you can click on one of the shift times on the top. This will bring all candidates who applied for this shift to the top of the list.

Use Case

So, when would be best to use this view over the Mission or Campaigns view? Well, the Assign view is a quick and easy way to see what resources, meaning your staff, you have available over a period of time. If you have a small core team, it can be helpful to have a quick overhead view of the availability of your workforce during the next two weeks, for example. This can allow you to make sure you are making the most of the candidates you have and are able to balance schedules over the long term. Instead of needing to navigate between multiple screens to view various shifts and candidates, you can see them all from this one screen!

Design Change within Assign Candidates Tab

As of August 29, there has been an update to the “Assign candidates” tab and all images have been updated to reflect this.

When the internal team navigates to “Assign candidates” they’ll be able to see dates labeled at the top of the page. Before, it didn’t display consecutive dates, as certain candidates may not have been working on a particular date and that would have been left out of the list or skipped.

The updated design has clearly marked days and dates that run from Monday to Sunday. It also shows the number of filled shifts and those that are pending, and of course at the top of the page you have the filter, previous and next options. This design saves you 42 seconds in loading time and it's a lot easier on the eyes.

Admins can now view the availability of candidates from within the “Assign candidates” tab, there’s no need to go any place else. If you wish to assign any candidate, their availability will be visible and you can go ahead and assign them for a shift. You will be able to see if it is a shift that they had automatically submitted their availability for or requested from their opportunities.
