Candidates want to know how much money they’ll be earning when they request a given shift. So when and how will a candidate see their pay rate?

If a candidate does not have a custom rate set, then they will see the pay rate of the opportunity in their dashboard as set in the job type configuration. We recommend this article to review how the platform determines bill and pay rate. Remember that the pay rate for a given job type can be updated at any time by going to Configuration → Platform Setup → Services or Job Types →select the Job Type → Rates → enter the new pay rate, and click on Submit.

So let’s say the pay rate for “Chef” is $45/hour. When a candidate logs in to the platform and sees an opportunity for “Chef,” they will see that the pay rate is $45/hour.

Now, let’s say a candidate has a custom rate--for example you might have a candidate that has been with your company for years, or a candidate that has some extra certifications which really set them apart. You may decide that this candidate should have a pay rate of $50/hour for all “Chef” jobs. If a candidate had a custom rate set before the order was placed, the candidate should see their rate when they log into the platform and see opportunities for that job type.

To set a custom rate for a candidate, navigate from your dashboard to Workforce, then select the candidate. Once in their profile, click on the tab that says Interview. Find the job type for which you wish to give them a custom rate, and enter it!

We invite you to create a test candidate to play around with custom rates and test this functionality for yourself. You can then put them as a preferred candidate for a test order, then log in to their dashboard to see how that event will appear to them.
