This article has been updated as of May 26, 2021 to more accurately represent the frontend services that DesignModo and Wolf support.
There are two ways that you could have your website. The first is that you have an external website (which you may already have!) and the platform is linked to it. In this case, your website would be www.example.com and your platform would be on app.example.com or othername.example.com. You have your own website and you manage it.
The second option is to have a unique place for the platform and website to live together. In this case, you will need to use some sort of website builder tool to design and build your website, while Wolf hosts your website. For example, both your website and the platform could be on www.example.com.
So how do you build your own website? One option is with DesignModo.
What is DesignModo?
DesignModo is a “drag-and-drop” website builder that allows you to easily put together the frontend of your website exactly as you envision it. There is a free as well as paid version (check their pricing plans here), but not to fear--Wolf has a discount code (and you can cancel payment as soon as your website is ready).
When should I use DesignModo?
Using DesignModo is not necessary, but it may be helpful depending on your plan for the frontend of the platform. As you probably have seen, the platform does already come with a boilerplate, and your company may already have its own website. So let’s break it down:
When not to use DesignModo:
You will be connecting the platform directly to your existing company website, and simply need the frontend to show a sign-in/create an account page
You will be using the boilerplate as the frontend and do not expect changes after basic initial set up
One-time initial set up of the frontend using the boilerplate includes: removing slides, updating copy, and changing background images
You will be frequently updating or adding content to the frontend of the platform
You are working with a marketing agency or designer to design your website
When you should use DesignModo:
You want the information and graphics on the slides of the frontend to be formatted differently than in the boilerplate
You do not anticipate updating content or graphics frequently
