Your candidate will be asked the first time they log into the app if they wish to allow push notifications from the app.

If they choose yes, the app will become their preferred channel to receive notifications on. If the candidate wishes to change this setting, they can unsubscribe through their profile or via their phone's configuration settings (exact steps will differ for iPhone vs. Android phones). If the app had been their preferred channel to receive notifications and it is now turned off, the candidate will begin receiving notifications at another channel they are subscribed to, such as text message. Email will always be a fallback option.
