The Counter Offer feature empowers candidates to propose terms that differ from the original order, providing flexibility and enhancing negotiation opportunities between candidates and clients. This feature is specifically designed for long-term and flexible orders and is not yet available for short-term assignments.
Key Configurations
The Counter Offer feature has two main configurable options:
Rate – Candidates can propose a new hourly or project rate different from the initial offer.
Hours – Candidates can propose a different schedule or number of hours than originally offered.
These configurations allow candidates to suggest adjustments that better align with their expectations or availability.
How Candidates Submit a Counter Offer
Candidates have two ways to submit a counter offer:
From the Opportunity Page – Candidates can click into the opportunity and propose alternative terms directly from the opportunity listing.
From an Application Already Submitted – If a candidate has already applied for an opportunity, they can still submit a counter offer through their pending applications page.
Step-by-Step Submission Process
To submit a counter offer, candidates should follow these steps:
Click the Counter Offer button on the opportunity page.
Check the box for either Rate, Hours, or both, depending on what the candidate wants to propose.
Enter the proposed new rate and/or new hours.
Optionally, add a note to provide additional context or explanation for the proposal.
Click Submit to send the counter offer.
Admin View and Actions
When a candidate submits a counter offer:
The new rate and/or hours will be displayed when an admin or client attempts to hire the applicant.
Admins have the ability to edit counter offers before finalizing the hire, giving full control over the negotiation process.
This ensures transparency and allows both parties to reach a mutually acceptable agreement efficiently.
