When adjusting a shift’s start or end time, changes can only be made in two-hour increments at a time. If you need to extend or reduce the shift by more than two hours, you must do so in multiple steps. For example, if a shift starts at 9:00 AM and you want to change it to 12:00 PM, you can first adjust it by 2 hours (to 11:00 AM) and then by 1 hour (to 12:00 PM).
If you need to make a larger change all at once, you will need to cancel the shift and create a new shift or a new order with the preferred hours.
Why This Logic?
You may wonder why this restriction exists. Here’s the reasoning behind it:
Minimizing Disruptions – Sudden, irregular time changes can create confusion and scheduling conflicts, particularly for workers relying on a stable shift structure.
Order Integrity – Larger, non-standard changes may significantly alter the original order’s scope, requiring a new request to ensure proper fulfillment and staffing.
If you need to modify a shift beyond the two-hour rule, you can either cancel the existing shift and create a new one or place a new order. This ensures that all updates are properly managed and communicated.
